HEMOGLOBIN

Hemoglobin represents my mother’s final breath. (When we breathe, hemoglobin carries oxygen from our lungs to our tissues and carbon dioxide back to our lungs.) Age 93 and a life-long practitioner of yoga, Anita’s last breath was taken in Shavasana (the final relaxation pose) guided by my sister Wendy, an Iyengar Yoga teacher. Hemoglobin is designed to float on air currents to simulate breathing.
