Hung Out to Dry

Hung Out to Dry is a paper quilt/necklace made from photographs of individual maple leaves printed on Japanese paper, hand-tinted and stitched with handspun paper thread. The work symbolizes both the fragility and resilience of Indigenous people and the natural world in the face of post-industrial, capitalist Canada. Even though both have been hung out to dry, they have the power to heal and the drive to thrive.
